Jensen Gifford has been taking photos for over half his life, having been introduced to the art by his then-studio photographer father as a kid. For Jensen, photography is an expressive, healing exercise in appreciating his place in community and in nature.

Self-taught and resolute on consistent improvement, his voice as a photographer continues to unfold symbiotically with his expanding comprehension of and experiments within traditional analog photographic processes, producing works that have been nurtured at every intricate step.

Recent works offer revealing and dreamlike qualities coaxed from crisp environmental portraits, intentionally captured yet candid human expression and an admiration of natural lighting and form.

Portions of Jensen’s collections have been featured in Vancouver-local publications including Discorder, Beatroute and Adbusters magazines, and his skills have been employed for studio portrait sessions for both retail and non-commercial clientele.
